Non-conventional farmer on a organic farm
"I dream of a world with mankind back in its first place. A humble member of earth with only the right to share the place with everything and everyone equally and respectfully."
Who are you?
I'm a young non-conventional farmer on a middle size farm organic without cattle. I am exploring different ways of sustainable production. The only really renewable products come out of the ground. Everything comes from farms, excepting wood and energy. My production is progressively trying to feed, clothe, heal and house people. I produce food but am also involved in eco-building with straw and hemp. I studied bio-engineering at university, and my conviction is that there is a lot to do, think, create in agriculture and it has to be done in the right direction. I'm very concerned by the way the world evolves and convinced transition has to be understood, planned, pondered and done to avoid critical problems.
Why are you part of Generation T?
I can bring a practical point of view, a "field expertise". I'm curious and interested in a lot of things. I was clearly not born to be a farmer but agriculture seems to be in the centre of various subjects and so I decided to be part of it. My biggest strength is my eclecticism (also a big weakness). I know a lot but don't master it. I'm very good at criticising to build something better, more real. Dreams and words are beautiful but too often meaningless. I dream of a world with mankind back in its first place. A humble member of earth with only the right to share the place with everything and everyone equally and respectfully.
A specific example on how your project or activities make a difference and initiate change:
The new farm buildings and my house are under construction. It will be fully autonomous. I want it to be a place as open as possible. I wish to welcome people, schools, groups to see and understand this ground linked future. It will also be a test place for future market gardeners to test their jobs before their final settlement.
