Managing partner at Greenway Foods and climate ambassador
"Climate change is the biggest challenge mankind is facing today."
Who are you?
I am an entrepreneur with a passion for sustainable development. Currently I am managing partner at Greenway Foods, a vegetarian concept restaurant chain in Belgium. Prior to investing in Greenway, I co-founded Bubble Post, a sustainable delivery company active in the biggest Belgian cities. Beside all this, I give lectures as climate ambassador of Al Gore, co-organize Dagen Zonder Vlees and Sing for the Climate and am curator of the Global Shapers Brussels hub. During my studies in the political sciences I became aware of this huge challenge we're facing today. Hence, I wrote my master thesis on the topic of climate change policy. Ever since I have chosen both professionally and personally to be "the change I want to see in the world."
Why are you part of Generation T?
I am passionate about the 3 aspects of sustainable development. For example, at Greenway we're building a sustainable company with three aspects in mind. Social: Greenway is a trust-based organisation with no hierarchy. 20% of the profits are shared with our employees. Environmental: We make the most sustainable choices for our products. Economic: We are financially a healthy organisation. I think my professional experience will be an added value for Generation T.
A specific example on how your project or activities make a difference and initiate change:
"Walk the talk" is probably what inspires most people. If you can show on a personal level that sustainable also means comfortable and professionally sustainable can also mean profitable, that's when you make a difference in other people's minds. At Greenway we show that vegetarian food can be delicious. By doing we inspire people to live a healthier and more sustainable life.
