Who are you?
My name is Sabien, graduated as a commercial engineer and worried about our future and the future of our planet. Therefore I founded ROOF FOOD in November 2014. ROOF FOOD wants to bring ecological food and agriculture closer to cities. Besides our societal goals, we want to prove that making a change can happen in an economical profitable way. By proving this, we want to inspire other (social) entrepreneurs.
Why are you part of Generation T?
I think the combination of our idealistic values together with a sense of reality makes ROOF FOOD a credible and inspiring case for other people. I have large ambitions and people say I can enthusiasm others by telling our story. I've worked 2 years at the university doing research on sustainable cities. Therefore I have a broad background that helps me putting things in perspective and help ROOF FOOD realizing our (ecological) goals.
A specific example on how your project or activities make a difference and initiate change:
ROOF FOOD offers vegetarian catering and teambuilding activities to companies. The vegetables from our rooftop are used for our catering and teambuilding activities are organized on our rooftop and in our kitchen. We try to bring a message in our catering as well as during our teambuilding activities. Besides bringing a message and sensitizing, we also want to offer an alternative by providing attractive vegetarian catering to companies with local ingredients.
